KPDX Local Sales Assistant

Position Summary:
  • Works under the direction of the assigned Local Account Executives as well as the Local Sales Manager in performing all necessary support/service duties pertaining to all local business.
  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Input, check, and confirm local sales orders.
  • Research and resolve log discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update local account files.
  • Assist with database maintenance.
  • Book barter program spots when preempted at the direction of the Traffic Manager and Programming department.
  • Assist in the creation of sales presentation material.
  • Cross-train with other sales assistants for vacation/leave coverage.
  • Contact external clients/customers directly.
  • Provide sales/service support to clients/customers.
  • Maintain a high level of concentration, organization, and continuous work review for purposes of accuracy.
  • Foster positive relations within the department and with other departments for generating additional revenue.
  • Additional tasks as required by Local Sales Manager.
  • Minimum Qualifications – All must be met to be considered.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate required. College/university/technical degree in related field preferred. Sales/service support or office experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
  • Computer skills utilizing Wide Orbit and Microsoft software including Excel, Outlook, and Word preferred.
  • Strong organization and phone skills.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Attention to detail and follow through.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and communicate diplomatically with all clients, viewers, and local representatives.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule.
