- Establish revenue goals for assigned revenue sector and supervise local Account Executives in implementing and achieving those goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establish revenue goals for specific department by Local Account Executive.
- Prepare specific department yearly operating expense budget.
- Monitor monthly expenses to remain in budget and reforecast future monthly expenses for known variances to budget.
- Develop "value-added" sales projects; develop new-to-television ad revenue.
- Assist in the pricing of inventory in order to achieve sales budget goals.
- Supervise the identification of target advertisers and the preparation of presentations by Account Executives to those target advertisers.
- Maintain personal contact with key agency and client personnel.
- Supervises the generating of reports used to monitor progress toward achievement of revenue goals.
- Motivate, educate and train local sales personnel and Sales Assistants.
- Supervise Account Executives and assigned Sales Assistants in both training and day to day performance. Work with and enhance the sales strategies of the sales department.
- Adheres to station’s credit and collections policies and reviews routinely the accounts receivable for each Account Executive for possible problems.
- Any other task which may be required as requested from the General Sales Manager or General Manager.
Minimum Qualifications – All must be met to be considered.
- High school diploma or GED certificate required. College/university/technical degree in related field preferred. Sales/service support or office experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Computer skills utilizing Wide Orbit and Microsoft software including Excel, Outlook, and Word preferred.
- Strong organization and phone skills.
- Strong verbal and writing skills.
- Attention to detail and follow through.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and communicate diplomatically with all clients, viewers, and national representatives.
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule.
